Cheap Suvs

Cheap Suvs

Cheap SUVs:
Cheap is a questionable word when talking about SUVs. After taking into account gas mileage, cost of gas, and insurance, no SUV is cheap - unless money is of absolutely no concern to you.

With the rising costs of gas, the good news is that if you have your heart set on a SUV, you can buy a used one for cheap. The thousands of dollars you can save by buying a used SUV can offset the cost of gas for a little while.

Cheaper SUVs:
When taking into account gas prices, you might want to consider getting a SUV with better gas mileage. Smaller SUVs, 4-wheel-drive wagons, and crossover vehicles that hover somewhere between a SUV and a truck or wagon are good alternatives that will meet your cargo space needs while saving you money with an economy engine.

Cheap Luxury SUVs:
Luxury SUVs are very expensive when they are brand new. The older the vehicle and the higher the mileage on it, the lower price you can find.

When to Buy Cheap SUVs:
When interest rates are low and gas prices are high is a good time to buy a SUV. If gas prices are high, sometimes the dealers panic and slash prices; they will be more willing to negotiate a lower price for you on new or used SUVs. When the market is slow and the economy is down, dealers who have had slow sales will be more apt to give you a better deal and take smaller commissions for themselves.

Resale Value:
If you plan to drive your vehicle for as long as its lifespan, you don't have to think about the resale so much, and you can just buy your favorite SUV. If you want to sell it in a few years, choose a SUV that has a good resale value. You can see SUV resale values by looking at a blue book and seeing which SUVs hold their value and which ones most drop in value. If an SUV holds its value well, it will also probably be more expensive, even if it is used. If a SUV holds its value though, it's most likely a model that is a safe, trustworthy, well-running vehicle that people respect.

Where to Get Cheap SUVs:
Dealerships are always a place to go to buy used and new SUVs, but they can be the most expensive. Buying a SUV direct from an individual through the Internet or a local paper will be the way to find the cheapest SUV.
